Crisis must be faced with solidarity: Tarique Rahman

Tarique Rahman said this in a statement on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday.

The BNP Acting Chairman said, “We need to build a social system based on tolerance and self-restraint in order to stop divisive conflicts or mob violence.” In the statement, Tarique Rahman mentioned that there are worrying reports of some members of a banned student political organization inciting violence, including creating tension between the public and the police. He said, “I request these groups to refrain from trying to exploit such a sad moment in Bangladesh’s history for their own interests.”

Instead, the BNP Acting Chairman commented that everyone should focus on uniting as a nation, showing compassion and unity. “Let our energies be spent on finding our missing loved ones, accurately accounting for the dead, ensuring the best possible treatment for the injured, and allowing the authorities to conduct a fair investigation to determine the root cause of the plane crash,” he said.

Tareque Rahman expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families, including the innocent victims of the plane crash. He said Bangladesh must remain united and face every crisis with solidarity.
